Money put into a commissary account becomes the inmate's property and can be spent at the inmate's discretion, it is not returned to the depositor, and a negative commissary balance is collected from deposited funds. To post bond, the FAQ recommends paying at the Sheriff's Office around the clock rather than routing bond money through commissary.
